Knitting Mishap

One of the projects I took on the cruise was a basic cowl pattern with some sea silk yarn.  The hand of the material was great, but when I got home and looked at the knitted portion, I noticed and my stitch count was all wrong.

The knits and the purls are suppose to form one straight line and you can see that it is totally jagged.  I ended up ripping the entire project up.

I then went looking around and saw this skein for a scarf pattern.

Knitting Mojo is Back

I have been slacking on the knitting for a bit, but I have my mojo back now.  I finished a simple cowl pattern - Mira's Cowl using Baah yarn in the brazillian emerald color.

I only used 10 grams of the 100 so I plan to knit a pair of ribbed socks with the rest.

I'm going to pick up with menehune since all that needs is the lace border before it is finished.

Beaded Silk Cowl

I found that having my neck covered during the cooler weather helps my cough so I decided to bolster my collection by knitting a new cowl.

I pulled out the Tilli Thomas silk yarn I had purchased in Maryland Sheep and Wool ages ago which pretty much got eaten by Pepper.  The only skein that I though escaped unscathed was the beaded skein.  Here is a close up of the beads.

I wound the yarn into a ball and found there were a few places where the yarn had broke and I needed to magic knot the pieces together.

The pattern I used is called Darkside Cowl by Sarah Fama.

The pattern is reversible so it looks the same on both sides.  It should be warm.
