Val's Birthday Socks

I posted here about Val's new socks project.  The coloring while they were being knit were awesome.

However, I obviously was not paying enough attention during the gusset increase and somehow ended up with either too many or too few stitches so I had to rip quite a bit of the socks out and restart from a place where I knew the number of stitches was right.

This was the first project that I spent a lot of time on when I got home from vacation so it was pretty satisfying when it all came together and I was able to finish.

I mailed these babies off to Val for her birthday and she texted me and said they have a cute reggae vibe.  She also added, "Next I want a long grey scarf maybe we'll look at some yarn while you're here."  I will be visiting her again in the New Year and we will be yarn shopping.  I can't wait.
