Kooza

Saw Kooza with my bff Val on friday and it was cool. The one thing that I have found with all the Cirque shows that are performed in the tent are that the sound is really loud. It was a matinee show at the Del Mar Fair Grounds and the parking and crowds were not too bad. During the show, Val got licked and hugged by the dog. It was very funny!

Cal has posted on Facebook that the juggler he saw on a previous show was ridiculously amazing but we did see such an act. It was a non-stop action packed show with contortionists, tumblers, tightrope walking, twirling ring acrobats, a swinger, a unicycler and his date, the hula hoop girl, and the balancing gymnast. Lots of clown action and an appearance by the Grim Reaper.

Val and I both shopped in the store and we were informed by a nice lady working the concessions that we could get $5 off any $10 purchase if we used our American Express cards. Suffice it to say, that we made more than one purchase around $10 to maximize our discounts. I ended up with a set of 4 glass tumblers with a cool design of flakes and stripes. Val bought the set with lots of dots.

We ended the evening at the Soup Planation for dinner. Boy was it crowded but the clam chowder and the blue berry muffins were yummy as usual.

Return of Supperclub

On March 20, San Diego Supperclub was restarted. It has been a while since we disbanded the supperclub due to members leaving, but since Kim has returned, albeit to Coronado, we have started up the club again! We were to meet at Kim's with the following menu:

At the last minute due to family emergencies, only Serena and I were able to meet at Kim's. I made the Carrot Souffle which was delicious. I had made the recipe the week before for my spin group and the consensus was that it was good enough for pie filling. It only got better with the second go around. Serena brought wine since she is now living in Los Angeles. Kim was also prepared enough to make a gorgeous salad and a blood orange tart with blood orange sorbet.

We stayed until almost 10:00 pm chatting and catching up with one another. Can't wait for our next meeting.

Kim also has a new food blog. Yum!
