Ortega's

Last dinner before my parents went home was for mexican at Ortega's.  Andrea came into town and joined us for dinner.
They had two specials - I ordered one and my mom ordered the other.  Both came with soup.
My dad had steak tacos.
And Andrea ordered the carnitas.

Very good but parking is a challenge.  Best to have reservations as well.

Queen of Thrones - Clue 3

Played a bit more of yarn chicken and found out that I had plenty so I ripped back and did the pattern as written.  Very little left over.
Ready for clue 4.
Now the colors will only be grey and more grey until the end.

Yarn Bowl Mishap

I have had a green ceramic yarn bowl for quite a few years and I loved the size and design and especially the color.  I recently took it out to place my mystery knit a long project in and it resided on the coffee table so I could knit while watching tv.

Bailey and I shared a cuddle and snuggle and when he flipped off the couch, his tail caught my tea cup which caused a chain reaction with the bowl shattered into pieces on the floor.  He ran away to hide and I carefully picked up the pieces too small to glue back together.  Clean up with the vacuum and the yarn bowl is now residing in the trash can.

Revisiting Kappa Sushi

After finishing up a class in San Marcos, I met up with Grace for a late sushi lunch at Kappa.

We arrived pretty much before they closed and had a hearty lunch since I was starving.

We ordered a bento box and a sushi combo as well as a couple of the daily specials.
Great food and super nice people.

On to Trader Joes for some groceries and then back to Casa Grace and we watched The Big Short.

Queen of Thrones - Clue 2

Well the second clue released and I continued in the new color with a lace motif.  It went pretty fast and I played yet another game of yarn chicken.
Just a little bit left to spare.

Outlander - Clue 3

Another plaid section for the outlander mystery knit a long completes clue 3.
I bet the next clue will be another cable section in the alternate color.

May Supper Club - Mexican Ole

Jon and Karen hosted supper club for May with a Mexican theme.  They provided
BBQ pork tacos with a pineapple salsa plus home made tortillas.
They also prepared watermelon water and Mexican Wedding Cake.
Grace tackled the Chile Rellenos en Nogada with corn including some spicy sauce.
Eileen, their neighbor, brought Shrimp Ceviche.
Ike and Megan, new additions to supper club, brought some additional salsa and Mexican beer and I rounded out the meal with the Pay de Lima.
We missed Kim and Jan with the salad and the tamales, but there was plenty to eat and leftovers for lunch the next day.

I think we are headed out for dinner the next round.
