A new restaurant has opened in the neighborhood and it had a soft opening with the grand opening in a couple of weeks. I went with Grace and Yaling and we tried a variety of things.
First up was a drink - Materva - tasty
Salmon, LeChon, and an empanada were ordered and shared.
Everything was very tasty and this is a repeater. You walk up and order at the counter and they bring you the food.

Mystery Knit-a-Long Clue 4
I am very far behind schedule on my knit-a-long. I just finished clue 4 which is the "wing" from one side of the square.
Clue 5 picks up an adjacent side of the square and will also have a wing.
Clue 8 was just released and it is the final clue. I definitely won't be finished by the end of the week.

Tasty Noodle House
Tried out a new place for dinner with Grace and Yaling. The parking lot was challenging on a friday evening given that a bar is in the complex so we parked on the street and hiked quite a ways.
We placed out order and the first dish that came out was a hot and sour soup that we didn't order.
The two noodles and the green beans came next.
The pork was very tasty.
And we finished with black sesame balls in a soup.
Quite a small place but very good food. The wait was long as we came at exactly the wrong time after everyone had been seated at the same time.

Lavender and Chamomile Eye Pillows
Eileen and I talked about eye pillows for the patients in the clinic and she had one that she had been using made out of some silky material that could not be washed.
During lunch, we chatted about it and then I came home and did some google research and came up with this site.
Seemed simple enough so I dug around the stash and pulled out some of the fabric that Eileen had that we used to make table covers.
I also had this flannel that I had purchased and washed but never got around to using.
Following the instructions, I cut the cotton fabric to 4"x9" rectangle and sewed it up to make a pillow after turning it inside out.
I then cut the flannel a quarter inch more on each side and sewed up the cover for the pillow to sit in.
I ordered from amazon some flax seed, lavender flowers, and chamomile flowers and filled up the pillow at 2/3 full and sewed it closed.
I also dug out some cut of pajama pant legs when I made my shorts and used one as a cover for the third bag.
Finished pillows with covers and it took almost no time at all.

President's Day
It was a hot summery day for February with time spent doing chore catch-up. Dress was capri pants and a tank.
Took Eileen out for pizza on her first day at the new clinic and we hit Pieology for a late lunch. Pizza is no longer a dirty word.
Had a treatment after lunch in one of the new recliners which was so comfortable that I actually dozed off and I'm pretty sure I was snoring.
Yaling and I then went out for a bit shopping for supplies and I ended up getting a new bed for Bailey that he loves.
I think he went out in the middle of the night to sleep in his new bed.

After doing some last minute chores at Eileen's new clinic location, we headed out to Tajima for some dinner.
We ordered a variety of items and it was all super tasty. The restaurant was crowded at 7:30pm.
I had the udon which was very tasty and shared some sushi and cold tofu with a taste of the friend rice.

Chinese New Year Celebration
I was invited along with my friends to the Jasmine Chinese New Year celebration for the year of the monkey.
We had the lucky lion dancers in multiple colors accepting good luck red envelopes that we fed them. Our table hosted by Jon and Karen was in a great spot near the stage and we were wooed by many of the lions.
Great dim sum while we were waiting for the ceremony to start and 2 peking ducks and a great steamed fish dish.
Lovely lunch with friends to welcome in the new year.

Bifrost
I love the Thor movies and when I saw the Bifrost kit from Infinite Twist I knew I wanted to make it.
Infinite Twist is a handspun yarn company in China and I had heard about them a little while ago as all their kits come with everything you need to knit up the project.
Bifrost came in a package.
The three cakes of yarn were actually made up of multiple color pieces simply knotted together so while knitting up the pattern, I used the clasp join the pattern recommended.
The first cake is finished and I'm starting on the second cake.

Northern California and Reno Field Trip
After a rest weekend, I picked up Julie and we headed up to Reno after chowing down on some Mongolian BBQ.
We were super lucky with the weather. No rain or snow, but the scenery was beautiful.
We found a sushi place in Reno and tried the all you can eat menu.
We also had Vietnamese Pho a couple of times.
And tried a new hot pot place.
Julie wanted some sushi for her last meal before heading back home and we found this place in Lodi.
