BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

Andrea prepared BBQ chicken sandwiches for dinner.  Chicken breast were baked and then cheese melted over before placing on a sandwich roll topped with some onions.
Adding the barbecue sauce added some flavor.
Good sandwich and we paired with the rest of the tomatoes.

Peachy Pork-A-Bobs

I had some leftover pork butt so I cubed up the remainder and used this recipe. Peaches are in season now so I prepped this up and it was delicious.

First up was to cube up the pork and then pour the marinade into the container to cover the meat.
Andrea was nice enough to do the grilling next with brushing from the peachy sauce.  This is after it came off the skewers.  Very tasty and I have half a container for sauce left for something else.
Dinner was rounded out with caprese and artichoke.

La Jolla Farmer's Market

Helped Eileen out with her BIY Bone Broth booth again and it was cloudy but super hot day.
Samples set out ready for guests.
Donuts were a big hit and were sold out by the end of the day.  One is covered with bacon and the other has an oreo cookie inside.
Lunch was a poke bowl.
And I got some vegetables for the coming week.
And of course some almond lemon cookies.

Bistro Kaz with Andrea

Andrea was back to monitor some condo construction and we went out the Bistro Kaz for dinner.

We started with a teriyaki fish appetizer.
Then moved to the ham salad.
Pasta and pizza to round out the meal.
Another great meal.

Chicago Field Trip

Back to Chicago for some additional training and to get my new computer.  The weather was a bit warm early in the week but after a few rain storms, it cooled off.

I stayed at the Omni Hotel which was really nice.  My view from the room was this.
Saw this car parked in front of our building.
Had M Burger the first night while shopping in the city.
Got some gifts and tried to hit the Uniqlo on Michigan Ave, but it was under construction and not opened yet.

One day, Mike to us out for Puerto Rican food here.
I had a pork plate sort of like a buffet line.
Marion had a tamale made of banana which was interesting.
Good trip and I was able to use Lyft for transport multiple times and it was easy and cool with interesting conversation with the drivers.

Phil's Burgers

Finally got to sample Phil's famous burgers.
He prepped chicken as well, but the burgers were good.  We also had a variety of other dishes including a salad that I brought from all the vegetables in the fridge.
My plate was full as usual.
We also celebrated Jo's birthday.
And had some tapioca pudding but didn't stay for tea.  I wished we did so we could use her cute tea set.

We also celebrated Yaling's birthday again.
With some lemon tart.
Delicious home made tortillas by Jon and I pigged out with 3 tacos.  Rounded out the meal with some mint tea.

Sacramento Field Trip

A quick overnight trip up to Northern California before big trips was successful in a couple of ways.

Beautiful blue skies and blue water on the outbound flight with a pass over Catalina.
It was gratifying to see some green on approach to Sacramento airport.
Met up with a new acquaintance in Stockton before heading out to Manteca.  No joy at the residence but confirm some stuff in Modesto.  Stopped for lunch at the Mangy Moose in Manteca and had a moose burger.  Very cute place for breakfast and lunch.
Had another meeting in Modesto for another case and headed back to Sacramento for the night.

Went out to dinner to celebrate my mom's belated birthday at T Kee.  Tried a new dish on a sizzling platter with eggs and seafood as well as the peking duck. We also had a fried rice dish similar to bibimbap.  Not much flavor and the rice was fairly hard.  It was better when the wrapped up the leftovers and added some water and cooked the bottom of the clay pot.
Headed back home with some results.
