Hot and Humid Houston

I had to go to Houston for a work trip and when I saw the temps to be in the 80s, I thought "cool - not too hot."  Boy was I wrong.  80 degrees here and there is a world of difference.  I had to go shopping immediately for thinner shirts.

The humidity just about killed me and it was a good thing I chopped off all my hair as my head was soaked about every day.   There was even a rain storm with lightning and thunder while I was there.  It was hard going from inside to outside and riding around in the car.  Houston is a pretty spread out place.

I did get to experience some cool places and one was the Cedar Creek Cafe.  It seemed like it was in rural area but not really.  Here is the outside where in the evenings, there is live music.  We ate indoors cuz I couldn't stand the heat.
I had a shrimp po boy sandwich with a fruit cup.  The shrimp was delicious but the bread was kind of chewy.
I also went to a hopping greek place during my time there.

I was able to work out almost every day and even plunked down some money for a chance to win the $640 million Texas lottery, but alas, I am home now and not a millionaire.

It was a exciting ride to the airport with lights and sirens and it was really interesting to see that people do not get out of the way of emergency vehicles.  They kind of slow but don't move out of the way.  I have never seen that happen as a norm in California but my bodyguard told me, "only in Texas."

Here we are hanging out at the Secret Service Office.
