Winslow Arizona

The next field trip was to Winslow Arizona.  We both flew into Phoenix but between weather and delays, we did not arrive until lunch time.  While I was waiting for Julie's plane, I ate at Sauce and ordered a super thin crust pizza which I was able to consume the entire pie.
It was a bit of a wait at the airport so I worked on knitting Val's new cabled socks.

It was then a 3 hour drive to Winslow and we were able to meet up and do the interview.  We then decided to eat dinner before heading back to Phoenix and ended up at BoJo's.
Where I had a grilled turkey sandwich with green chile.
We stopped by the "famous" corner in Winslow Arizona made popular in the song Take It Easy by the Eagles.
The corner is right on Route 66.  We then headed out but somehow got on the wrong road.  It was pitch black and we could see the stars laid out across the sky when we were taken by surprise by two deer crossing the road.

We headed back to Winslow and took the interstate back to Phoenix arriving at the hotel at midnight.  It was a super long day.

I headed home the next day, while Julie flew out to Salt Lake City for more fieldwork.
