I have been on a cotton spinning kick for a bit and got this video - Spinning Cotton by Stephenie Gaustad.
It is a great DVD for a beginner cotton spinner and Stephenie does a great job describing the fiber and goes through quite a bit of tools for preparing and spinning cotton.
It includes:
- cotton seeds
- ginning cotton
- hand carding cotton
- spinning on an upright charkha, great wheel, regular flyer wheel, tahkli, and various other spindles
- skeining cotton
- washing and setting cotton yarn
- plying cotton singles
I highly recommend this video if you are just starting out with cotton.
