On the first day, we headed out to National Museum of Natural Science which encompassed multiple buildings.  We hit the life science halls - gateway to the living world, the origin of life, the evolution of plants, life takes to land, the age of dinosaurs, flight, extinction, the evolution and adaptability of mammals, the story of man, the journey of human life, numbers, and forms, color in nature and sounds in nature.  We then moved through the human cultures hall - chinese medicine and herb garden, chinese science and technology, agricultural ecology, ancient chinese, the spiritual life of han people, the culture of taiwan austronesian, and the oceania.

Here is a movie of most of the journey plus excerpts from the tropical rainforest and greenhouse.
I did see this monstrosity of a loom which two people wove on at the same time.  I just could not figure it out, but the results are beautiful.
Full view of the loom.
Heddles.
Cloth beam.
This is the middle of the loom.  See that person sitting up on top?
Back of the loom.
View from the other side.  You can see the person on top.
